Project Narrative
Project Overview
Planning was completed on site first, followed by workshop fabrication of columns and beams. The team then installed the structure at the remote Perdeberg site in the Free State, and the client approved the build after review.
Scope of Work
- Fabrication and installation of a 12x30 portal frame with two link-to bays
- Roof and wall sheeting installation completed after frame handover
- Final close-out and handover completed
Execution Method
Beams were received at the workshop, fabrication was completed to programme, and the frame was installed on site by an eight-person crew. Sheeting was then completed in a four-day follow-on sequence.
Why This Approach
The client selected the portal-frame design with two link-to bays for its structural performance and practical layout requirements.
Major constraint: Remote-site logistics and a compressed sheeting window required strict sequencing to keep final close-out on time.
Results
The structure and sheeting package were completed quickly and safely, with client approval secured after review.
Completion Highlight
Full portal frame and sheeting package completed and approved by March 26, 2026.
